Happy International Parliamentarism Day!

The United Nations General Assembly, in its resolution A/RES/72/278 decided to observe on 30 June of each year the International Day of Parliamentarism underlining the contribution of the legislative institution to the national policies and its roles to enhance transparency and accountability at national and global levels.

This year’s theme is about Parliaments for Planet as an emphasis towards better climate policies.

To achieve that, transparent, accountable and inclusive institutions are needed to protect the interest of the public and to prevent and combat corruption.

In light of that, to celebrate International Day of Parliamentarism 2023, we are incredibly excited to share with you our newest Knowledge Product:

LEGISTrack is an open-ended Database Tracker for anti-corruption and good governance-related legislations that are being formally proposed, tabled, or passed in the Parliament across the regions in 2023. The tracker is designed to provide GOPAC members with awareness of any legislative initiatives exercised by parliament or by parliamentarians.

GOPAC Members are invited to provide or add more country/parliament currently having anti-corruption and good governance related bill(s), deliberating one, or passing relevant legislations by contacting secretariat through secretariat@gopacnetwork.org or info@gopacnetwork.org
