6th Global Conference

The Sixth Global Conference of Parliamentarians Against Corruption was held on 6 – 8 October 2015 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, at The Royal Ambarrukmo Hotel. The theme of the Conference was “bringing perpetrators of grand corruption to justice for a sustainable world where all citizens can live in prosperity and equity.” 

The tagline of the Conference is Justice, Equity, and Prosperity.”

The Conference was attended by parliamentarians and participants from more than 49 countries. The Conference, through its outcome document, The Yogyakarta Declaration, called the UN for the appointment of a UN Special Rapporteur on Corruption and its impact on the full enjoyment of human rights focusing on grand corruption and recommended the consideration of a new UNCAC protocol to establish an international court on corruption for the prosecution of perpetrators and collaborators of grand corruption. The Conference also fully supported the newly adopted Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), where a specific project to strengthen parliamentary oversight to support the SDGs implementation effectively was launched. The project was a collaboration between GOPAC, the Islamic Development Bank, and UNDP.
