3rd Global Conference

The third Global Conference which was held on 16-19 November 2008, in Kuwait City, saw the organization of at least 12 workshops held at the sideline of the conference. The workshop themes ranged from UNCAC review mechanisms, Anti-Money Laundering, Parliamentary Immunity, Resource Revenue Transparency, and others. 

The Conference adopted a Kuwait Declaration – Parliamentarians Combating Corruption:  It’s Part of The Job. The Conference also adopted several resolutions including a resolution seeking formal recognition of the important role of parliaments in the fight against corruption from the Conference of the State Parties to UNCAC. GOPAC also adopted several policy positions for each member and chapter to pursue, as is appropriate to each region and country.
