Asset recovery as a strategy for combating corruption was discussed by GOPAC Mexico and the Mexican Senate.

Sen. Minerva Hernandez, chair of GOPAC Mexico, and the Mexican Senate organized a discussion on the topic of asset recovery as a tool against corruption on March 15, 2023. The National Convention of Anti-Corruption Prosecutors’ work program was also addressed and presented at the event. One of the focuses of the work plan is to prosecute crimes involving acts of corruption. The discussion was attended by state and municipal controllers, anti-corruption prosecutors, legislators, and civil society organizations.

Sen. Minerva Hernandez reaffirmed her steadfast commitment to fighting anti-corruption crimes and her will to completely eradicate them.

“Necesitamos que los activos recuperados tengan un destino social y esto requiere también el involucramiento de sociedad civil (We need the recovered assets to have a social destination, and this also requires the involvement of civil society),” Sen. Minerva Hernandez
