10th Forum of Parliamentarians – Realising CoSP@20 Engagement

The 10th Forum of Parliamentarians, a resounding success, was convened in Atlanta, United States, on December 14, 2023, alongside with the Conference of the States Parties (CoSP) to the UNCAC. Centered on the theme “Global Anti-Corruption Governance: Realising CoSP@20 Parliamentary Engagement,” this notable event was orchestrated by GOPAC. It served as a progressive platform that effectively capitalized on the valuable insights and discussions generated during the GOPAC Parliamentary dialogue on UNCAC held in Doha in March 2023. This forum marked a significant advancement in increasing parliamentary engagement in global anti-corruption efforts, particularly within the evolving landscape of the UNCAC. Key discussions centered on enhancing parliamentary participation in the CoSP, especially in light of the UNCAC’s 20th anniversary, focused on strengthening global governance by involving parliamentarians more actively in UNCAC implementation. It also emphasized the importance of a more meaningful and dynamic partnership between the United Nations and legislative bodies, particularly in effectively following up on CoSP decisions. The event marked a significant step in promoting an inclusive approach to anti-corruption efforts at the parliamentary level.
